Julian Casablancas records song with singer
Santogold has teamed up with The Strokes' Julian Casablancas for a song about Converse trainers.
Pharrell Williams also features on the track, reports the Guardian.
Speaking about the song Santogold said: "Everybody on it does their own separate thing and we didn't do it together so it ends up being just this weird long song with sort of everybody with lots of their own personalities separate."
She described the untitled song as "such a Pharrell track".
The singer also said that she wasn't worried about doing a song for a brand.
"It's like one of the main ways to get our music heard now," she explained, "and so it's stupid for artists to shy away from that."
A video has also been shot for the track.

realmente no me gusto el tema .. aunque que se podria esperar si es un tema de Pharrell Williams, produccion etc etc ..
En mi opinion Julian es demaciado talentoso y un icono de el rock como para que desperdicie ese talento haciendo musica para comerciales ..
si es el siemple hecho de que desea entrar a un estudio de grabacion y hacer musica que reuna a sus chicos (The Strokes) y que empiezen a hacer musica ..
si lo hizo por el respeto y admiracion a una gran empresa como lo es Converse .. lo respeto ..
en fin ..

OK, en mi opinion lo hizo para experimentar, divertirse... El es un artista y eso es lo que ellos hacen, no? No se quedan estancados en una sola cosa. Y me parece que su parte es muy él o sea 'when you're haunted by the demons they will never let you rest'....
A mi si me gustó, es pegajosa! O sea es para un comercial, tiene que ser pegajosa. Obvio que no suena a nada stroke, ni esperaba que sonara a ellos, para nada. Sería MUY diferente si esta fuera una cancion de ellos, ahi si los mato.
Además gracias a esto vimos que sigue hermoso, y pudimos escuchar su vocecita :D eso es suficiente para mi.
PS: no me parece que esto comprometa para nada su integridad como artista, no es un sold out ni nada por el estilo. |
